Build Guide: Endgame Gear XM2 8K Minimal Base

Items needed:

Recommended print settings for STL files:

default print setting work well for our mods as long as tree supports are used.
  • Layer height: 0.12 or lowest possible
  • Perimeters/Wall Loops: 4
  • Infill: 40%
1) Remove the 4 screws located on the base.
2) Apply a small amount of pressure from the front and the rear to bend the shell away from the base. There are some clips on the side be careful not to break these.
3) Remove the cable, side buttons and scroll wheel connector. Pinch the JST connector from the side and gently wiggle out. Push from the sides of the connector and don't put strain on on the wires. These are the most delicate parts of the mouse.
4) Remove the 3 PCB screws.
5) After removing the original base, we are ready to install the base mod.
6) Support the base from the underside and screw in the PCB to the new base, do this for the front and the rear. Make sure not to overtighten and stop screwing when you feel resistance.
7) Start by reinstalling the cable, make note of the correct orientation of the pins.

8) Do the same with the scroll and side button connector. These are more delicate so take care not to put strain on them.
9) Place the base on the mounting points. Screw in the minimal base. Make sure to not overtighten.
Finally, apply your dot skates, this concludes the build guide.
Congratulations, now you have a 41g XM2 8K!
